John J. Ullrich, age 72, of the Town of Poygan, went to heaven on August 4, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born on May 4, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of Ivo and Mary (Schilke) Ullrich.
On September 24, 1966, John married Jean Luebke. They lived in Grafton from 1972 to 1991, and then moved to the Town of Poygan.
John enjoyed deer hunting with his son, David, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. He was happiest when around his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Ullrich; his children, David (Carissa) Ullrich and Heather (Peter Bridges) Buettner; grandchildren, Jaden, Mason and Landon Buettner; brothers, Jerry (Janet) Ullrich, Fred (Carol) Ullrich, Tom (Luci) Ullrich; sister-in-law, Marianne Ullrich; dear friends, Don and Karen Bartman; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his son, Daniel James; his parents; a brother, Robert Ullrich; and a nephew, Andrew Ullrich.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 10, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2450 W. 9th Ave., Oshkosh, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Wilkens will officiate.
