Elaine Carol (Kunde) Romberg was born on December 3, 1937, in the Town of Vinland. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Gladys Kunde. God saw to it that Elaine became a child of God through holy baptism as she was baptized at her home in 1937. She was later confirmed in the faith on March 18, 1951, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Winneconne by Pastor Grunewald.
She married Leslie William Romberg on June 25, 1955, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winneconne. Elaine was a faithful Christian wife to her husband and a loving devoted sister to her friends and family. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Elaine's business career began in June of 1955 at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. She became a Certified Professional Secretary in 1968 by the National Secretaries Association. This degree was the equivalent to a college degree and she was very proud of this accomplishment. She continued working at Kimberly-Clark until April of 1969.
On May 13, 1969 the Lord blessed Elaine with the gift of her firstborn son, Robert Daniel Romberg. She was blessed with another son as well, Peter William Romberg on August 2, 1972. Elaine loved her sons very much and raised them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
After Robert and Peter were ready for grade school, Elaine was able to work as the Church Secretary at Martin Luther in Neenah where Robert and Peter attended.
On January 12, 1981, Elaine went for an interview to work as secretary of a company called Inter-City Personnel Associates. That same day, Elaine got the job and her legacy at this company began. After working there many years and through a change of ownership, Elaine purchased the company in 1999. In 2003, she also purchased National Independent Staffing Association. Elaine truly enjoyed working at these companies. She once said, "So many people have touched my life; so many people have, I am sure, touched your lives - because we do have the same goals - we love to help people, and each of you truly have an effect on individuals' lives because they not only depend on you, but you do provide for them to change life-long careers." Her favorite quote in the business world was, "persistence pays." She truly believed that persistence truly makes a difference.
Elaine was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and showed this by her actions all her life. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Winneconne, Wisconsin.
Elaine loved her grandchildren dearly, and enjoyed the many times she was able to spend with them.
Survivors include her husband Les, her son Robert Romberg and his wife Melissa (Schultz), her son Peter Romberg and his wife Amy (Hoffman), her grandchildren Jackson Romberg, Connor Romberg, and Courtney Romberg, her brother Donald (Rosemary) Kunde, sisters Judy (Dale) Wilde and Betty Achterberg, sister-in-law Shirley (Terry) Schroeder of Wausau, WI, sister-in-law Carol (Cline) Porsche of Limon, CO, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Gladys Kunde, her father-in-law and mother in-law Dan and Hildegard Romberg, two brothers-in-law Ronnie Achterberg and Harvey Romberg, and sister-in-law Pat Kunde.
On October 11, 2015, the Lord called Elaine Carol Romberg to her heavenly home. She lived 77 years, 10 months, and 8 days.
The visitation will begin on Thursday Evening, October 15, from 5-7 PM at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, WI. The visitation will continue at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne on Friday, October 16, at 10:00 AM with the funeral service to be held at 11:00 AM. Mueller Funeral Home took care of all the arrangements. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh, WI in the glorious certainty of the resurrection of the body from the grave when Jesus Christ returns in all His glory.
If you wish please submit online condolences to muellerfuneralhomeinc.com.
The Lord has given, the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

Learned with great sadness today of Elaines passing. Have known Elaine since 1989 and she truly had a tremendous impact on my professional life. When starting my own recruiting firm, Elaine was there for me, believed in me and pushed me to have faith in my own abilities. Do not know what would have done without her or IPA. You were an amazing woman, Elaine, and I thank God for having the pleasure of knowing you.

Elaine was a true believer that if we worked together we would see more rewards than if we worked separately. She was such a positive person. She would always talk with you when you called in and be able to talk about almost anything. If there was a problem to be solved she would recommend a solution. She will be missed. I take comfort in the fact that she is at her eternal reward and will provide guidance when we need it. God bless Elaine and her family.
