Robert "Bob" Michael Pollack, age 74, of Winneconne, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at home. He was born July 21, 1942, in Oshkosh to the late Edward M. and Virginia M. (Thompson) Pollack. On December 30, 1967, Bob married Marilyn Laabs in Oshkosh. His career started in the grocery industry at Piggly Wiggly working up to department manager before buying and running Wickert's Food Market, where he honed his butcher skills and supplied local restaurants. He sold life insurance for a few years with the Knights of Columbus Insurance. Bob finished his career as a sales manager of M. Schettl Sales until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, duck and deer hunting. Bob was an active member of Knights of Columbus holding several offices and positions at the local and district levels, including District Deputy, and ran the local Tootsie Roll charity drive. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.
Bob is survived by his three children: Angela (Ian) Dodge, of Oshkosh; Beverly Porter, of Winneconne; Michael (Birgit) Pollack, of Oshkosh; six grandchildren: Kathleen, Ellen, and Lorna Dodge; Elijah, Rebecca, and Abigail Porter; one great-granddaughter, Nyla Dodge-Zevik; a sister, Mary (Vernon) LeBouton, of Wild Rose, a brother, Donald (Janet) Pollack, of DePere; brother-in-law, Kenneth Kuenzl, of Oshkosh; lifelong friends: Tom (Barb) Philipp, Dennis (Carol) Krause, Jim (Sue) Sonnleitner, all of Oshkosh, Donna (Lawrence) Stratton, of Winneconne; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Pollack; and a sister, Carol Kuenzl.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, April 24, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Fr. Edward Looney and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Oshkosh.
