Jeannie Pearle (Wilhelm) Plautz, of Omro, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 27, 2017, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah. Jeannie was born July 28 1946, in Kittanning, PA to the late Harold and Hulda (Lund) Wilhelm. They settled in Hayward, WI where Jeannie lost her Dad at the age of 13. Her early years in the northwoods were not easy, but did lead her to develop a toughness and independence that belied her small stature. She moved to the big city of Milwaukee at 18, and fell in love with a handsome young mechanic and race car driver. On September 9, 1967, Roger and Jeannie Plautz were married in Hayward, WI. They were devoted to each other, and their family, for 41 wonderful years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on February 29, 2008. Although Jeannie was very active the last nine years with her dear friends, church groups, and above all quilting... his passing left a hole in her heart that she could never recover from.
Knowing that they are reunited at last, together in the Glory of the Lord, brings her family immense comfort at this time.
Jeannie is survived by her sons, Dean (Maddie Zimney) Plautz, and Kevan (Nicole) Plautz; and her grandchildren, Ashley, James, Megan, Jessica, and Lacey Plautz, and Robert Zimney.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Ben Berger officiating. Burial will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.

I worked with Jeannie at IRS for decades, as we began our careers on the same day, 10/10/1989. Jeannie was great to work with and she was a true civil servant. I know she will be remembered by her IRS friends very fondly. God Bless.
