Vivian J. Howman, 94, of Larsen, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at home. She was born March 12, 1924, to the late George and Stella (Johnson) Halverson. She was a 1942 graduate of Neenah High School. Vivian's work career included working at a Neenah mill, housekeeping for the Kimberly's, waitressing at the Yellow Jacket and the Viking, and doing secretarial work for Winnebago County, where she was employed until her retirement at age 82. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, where she did volunteer work, as well as volunteering at Theda Clark Medical Center, and working the voting polls for the town of Clayton. Vivian enjoyed traveling, especially to Door County, gardening, growing flowers, her pets, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Vivian is survived by her children, Barb (Jerry) Stoltenow, of Mountain, Wisconsin; David (Kay) Howman, of Hortonville; Paul (Marilyn) Howman, of Plymouth, Minnesota; Georgia Zehner, of Larsen; grandchildren, Steve (Jane) Stoltenow, of Green Bay; Sandy (Kevin) Van Campenhout, of Two Rivers; Lori (Tony) Hobbs, of New London; Cathie (Chris) Fellner, of Sturgeon Bay; Dan (Cheryl) Howman, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Ann Marie (Travis) Theien, of Bennett, Wisconsin; and "Patches", of Larsen; great-grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc) Effinger, Mathew Stoltenow, Lexi and Samantha Van Campenhout, Talen and Emberly Hobbs, Caitlyn, Caralee, Cathryn, and Cassidy Fellner, Daniel, Andrew, Matthew, and Alex Howman, Bryant, Alli, and Addison Theien; and great-great-grandchildren, Layla and Lucas Effinger.
Along with her parents, Vivian was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Howman, in 1970; a son, Dannie Howman, in 1977; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Ray Krutz, Eileen and Bob Burr; and a brother, Marshall Halverson.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, 8396 Steeple Hill Dr., Larsen. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Connie Bramlett officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
