Mary Ellen (Lord) Zinecker, age 78, passed away at Centegra Hospital in Huntley, IL on Saturday, August 18, 2018, from head injuries resulting from a fall. She was born to Harold and Mary Lord on September 10, 1939. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1957 and married Michael Zinecker at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on April 29, 1961.
Mary Ellen was employed by First National Bank in Oshkosh then F & M Bank in Winneconne and enjoyed 35 years as a bank teller serving the community. She was actively and passionately involved in various volunteer roles at Zion Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Winneconne, and Christ Lutheran Church, Eagle River. Mary Ellen also volunteered annually at the Ducks Unlimited gala fundraiser as the master of ceremonies for many years. She enjoyed weekly bible study classes, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Mary Ellen brought immense joy, love, and spirit to every life she touched and always had a smile to light up the room.
She is survived by her son, Mark Zinecker; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Bruce Marley; three grandchildren: Garrett Zinecker, Koleton Zinecker, and Grace Klement; her siblings and their families: Fran Leinweber, Gloria and Coy Branscum, Barbara and Ed Anderson, and Dennis and Lynda Lord. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Kay (Zinecker) Quinn, and Betty Zinecker, and their families; as well as Mike's half-brother and his wife; Ray and Marlene Alexander; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many dear loving friends. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Mike, of 57 years, and his two brothers; David Zinecker and Bill Zinecker.
Please join us for fellowship and visitation at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth Street, Winneconne, WI from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the church.
