Patricia Jean Frerks
Winneconne, Wisconsin

Patricia Jean Frerks, age 79, of Winneconne, entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 26, 2010. She passed away, following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, where she had resided for the past 2 ½ years. Pat received loving care and comfort from the Evergreen staff. Patricia's family is deeply appreciative of the care she received from Evergreen and Heartland Hospice.
Patricia was born in Oshkosh on December 21, 1930, to the late Harold and Viola (Stille) Sprague. She attended and graduated from Oshkosh High School. On March 25, 1949, Pat married Edward A. Frerks of Winneconne where they made their home and she raised her family. Pat was married to Ed for 50 years, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2000. In her younger years she was a waitress at Holtz's Supper Club in Winneconne, and later she worked in the Food Service Department for the Winneconne School District. In the last of her working years, Pat did home health and hospice care, until her retirement. She was an avid Packer fan and never missed a game. Patricia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winneconne, where she had served as an Elder and many other roles, and she will be a greatly missed member of the church.
Patricia is survived by her four children, David (Ann) Frerks, of Idaho; Susan Frerks, of Winneconne; Jeff (Tiffany) Frerks, of Appleton; Lori (Dave) Blythe, of Omro; one brother, John (Carol) Sprague, of California; nine grandchildren, Kevin, Richard, and Patrick Frerks, Luke and Peter Nesper, Brittany and Lexie Frerks, Nick and MacKenzie Blythe; and six great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Patricia was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Sprague.
Patricia brought happiness to everyone around her and will be greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 32 S. Third Ave., Winneconne, with Pastor Mara Rivera and Pastor Ann Frerks officiating. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

On behalf of the family of Jane Zemke, I would like to express my condolences to you. We all had an opportunity to get to know your mother when both she and our mother were residents at Evergreen. Pat was a wonderful and very caring person, and our lives are better for knowing her. I always knew that when my famly were not able to be with my Mom, Pat was looking out for her well being. The day before my mother passed away, Pat insisted on leaving her own bed, getting all dressed up, with both her hair and makeup done, so that she could come by for one last visit. I will never forget her selfless and very kind gesture. May you find peace in knowing that she is now with her beloved husband, Ed.

My sympathies to all. I have very wonderful memories of the Frerks family, in fact on my last trip home was honored to have been able to stay at the house. I always called Pat, my Aunt even though she wasn't really my Aunt, my grandmother Myrtle was Eddie's Aunt so I guess I just thought she should be mine. I grew up with the Frerks' in my life and many good memories of them and the kids. Sorry that I will be unable to attend the memorial, however I will be there in spirt. I send my prayers, thoughts and hope that those will help you through this difficult time.

My sympathies to the family. I have happy memories of Mr & Mrs Frerks and family at the boatraces watching/helping Jeff race! Very kind people always. Very nice family. I haven't seen them for years, but I will always smile when I think of both of them. Now they are together again in Heaven.
