Helmut W. Arndt, age 81, of Appleton, formerly of Winneconne, died Monday, August 16, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
He was born November 2, 1928, in Belgard, Germany to the late Karl and Minna (Kauz) Arndt. On February 22, 1958, Helmut married Brigitte Sauer in Milwaukee. For 31 years he worked at Super Sky Products in Thiensville until retiring in 1985. Helmut and Brigitte spent their last winters in Florida. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing.
Helmut is survived by his wife of 51 years, Brigitte Arndt, of Appleton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas Arndt, of Alaska; Stephan and Laurel Arndt, of Colorado; one niece and two nephews, all of Frankfurt, Germany.
Along with his parents, Helmut was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A Service of Comfort will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne. Cremation will follow. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Liebe Brigitte, wir denken an dich in dieser schweren Zeit. Auch wenn wir weit weg in Deutschland sind, so fühlen wir uns dir eng verbunden! Wir denken gerne an unsere Reise mit den Kindern, bei der wir einige Tage zusammen genießen konnten!

Brigitte, Helmut was a very special man. I have wonderful memories of spending time with you and Helmut. Sending you a big hug and please know you and your family are in my prayers. If you ever need help with anything or just want to have a cup of coffee or something...please call me. I would love to see you. I am unable to make the service on Friday but know I will be thinking of you. Take care & may God hold you in the palm of his hand and give you comfort. Cindy Uecker
