Glen Roy Miller, age 81, of Omro, passed on to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. He was born March 7, 1930, in White Lake, Wisconsin, the oldest son of the late Adeline and Rudolf Miller.
Glen proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947 - 1949, and then returned home to finish his education, and on February 17, 1951, he married Patricia Becker.
Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and "anything he could fix or build with his hands." For many years he was employed with Gilbert Paper Company until his retirement.
Glen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; his children, Susan (Doug) Angerer, Sharon (Steve) Sowls, Cynthia (Gordon) Johnson, Glenda (Dave) Stadler, and William "Bill" Miller; grandchildren, Chad (Tina) Angerer, Courtney (Jason) Motylinski, Jason (Cheri) Sowls, Andy (Linda) Sowls, Amy Sowls, Ben (Kathy) Johnson, Alex Johnson, Paul Anderson, Craig Stadler, Megan (Kyle) Grusczynski, Nathan Miller; great-grandchildren, Christopher Sowls, Xander and Cade Sowls, Riley and Ella Motylinski, Olivia Angerer; brothers, George (Helen), Ronald (Sue), Dennis (Sandy), Louie (Nora Jean), Tom (Carol), Art (Patty); sisters, Marie Fuller, Linda Robinson, Lori Reinhardt, Lisa (Sheldon) Anderson; brothers-in-law, Erwin (Ruth) Becker, Everett (Mollie) Becker; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Along with his parents, Glen was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Jo Miller.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9077 North Rd. Fremont, with Pastor Mark Kinney officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Zittau.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and friends made while at Omro Care Center, and Hospice Advantage for their concern, love, and compassion given to Glen.
