Mike B. Sheasby, age 44, of Winneconne, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 24, 2011. He was born April 21, 1967, in Phoenix, Arizona to John and Arlene (Weisjohn) Sheasby. Mike was a 1985 graduate of Winneconne High School and a 1991 graduate of the Carpenter Apprenticeship Program at Fox Valley Technical College. He was a licensed journeyman carpenter in both Wisconsin and Texas. From 1987 until 1999 Mike was employed with Derse Exhibits in Coppell, Texas as a foreman and lead man at work construction sites. In 1999 he and a partner started Craftsman's Touch in Little Elm, Texas, a home repair and remodeling business. Mike owned and operated Craftsman's Touch until the spring of 2000, when he experienced health issues and following surgical interventions leaving him unable to continue in business, and resulting in his move back to Wisconsin to be with his family.
Mike is survived by his parents, John and Arlene Sheasby, of Winneconne; one brother, Robert James, Sr. (Nancy) Sheasby, of Appleton; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Robert, Jr., Danielle, and Andrew Sheasby; uncles, James Sheasby, Leroy (Joyce) Weisjohn, Larry (Beverly) Weisjohn; an aunt, Barbara Schmolze; cousins, Dick, Debbie, Karen, and Jeff Weisjohn, Betty Friemark, and Bill Moore; and Smoky, his cat and longtime companion.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, John F. and Maxine E. Sheasby, and Leonard and Selma Weisjohn.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St., Winneconne, with Pastor John Covach officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be established for St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church and the Oshkosh Humane Society.
Mike's family wishes to show their deep appreciation to Rick Peterson, John Pederson, Dean Jenss, and Randy Beach, for their years of friendship and support that they and their families provided to him. Mike will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
