David D. Peterson
Neenah, Wisconsin

David D. Peterson, age 72, of Neenah, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, at home. He was born January 5, 1939, in the Town of Winchester to the late Joseph and Elsie (Mathison) Peterson. David was a 1957 graduate of Winneconne High School, and he served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. On August 9, 1958, he married Evelyn Spiegelberg at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Zittau. For 40 years David worked at Bergstrom Paper Company/Glatfelter in Neenah until retiring in 2002. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Packers, and the Brewers. David and Evie traveled to many states and Canada and enjoyed downhill skiing in Colorado and Michigan and hiking the national and state parks. He was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Neenah, had been actively involved in Suburban Athletics with his sons, was on the board of directors of the Bergstrom Credit Union, was a volunteer at Theda Clark Medical Center, and was a poll worker for the Town of Menasha.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evie Peterson, of Neenah; two sons and their families, Gregory (Lori) Peterson, of Tigerton, and their children, Ethan, Joseph, Seth, and Anne; Paul (Pat) Peterson, of Winchester, and their children, Jessica and Michael; three sisters, Beverly (Orrin) Prindle, of Neenah; Karen Angell, of Winneconne; Bonnie Peterson, of Winchester; one brother, Marlyn (Vera) Henschel, of Neenah; sister-in-law, Kay Peterson, of Winneconne; and many other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, David was also preceded in death by one brother, Gene Peterson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Henschel; brother-in-law, Elroy Angell; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gladys and Harry Spiegelberg.
A Funeral Service for David will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 140 S. Green Bay Rd. Neenah, with Pastor Stephen Dietzler officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, September 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and will continue on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
