Susan Lynn Frerks, age 65, of Appleton, entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 27, 2020. She was born in Oshkosh on February 6, 1955, to the late Edward and Patricia Frerks. Sue was a graduate of Winneconne High School and then graduated with a nursing degree from the University of Madison. In her later years she attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and received her master’s degree in Nursing Education. She worked at Eagle River Memorial Hospital for many years in the cardiac department. Sue also briefly worked at the Omro Care Center. For the last years she worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was a loving, caring, compassionate nurse and will be missed by so many in the nursing field.
Sue and Glen Nesper raised their sons Luke and Peter Nesper in Eagle River, Wisconsin. They both enjoyed watching the boys play endless games of hockey from 4 years old all the way to college level. Nothing brought more joy than watching the boys succeed in life. She was such a proud mother and loved sharing the boy’s every accomplishment, small or large, with her family, friends, and co-workers. Sue enjoyed the outdoors, camping and walks with her 4-legged companion, Sadie. She enjoyed her adventures in Canada with Glen and the boys, and all of the fish they could catch.
Later in life, she found a new enjoyment of going on cruises. She loved all of the adventures at each port and made many lasting memories with her sons, sister, niece and friends.
Suzie loved spending time with family. Whenever there was a family gathering, her mother or sister would plan the menu and all of the girls would cook together with so many laughs. She adored spending time with all of her family members and always encouraged the game of scrabble with the “Frerks rules.”
Sue is survived by her two sons, Luke Nesper and Peter Nesper; their father, Glen Nesper; brothers, David (Ann) Frerks and Jeff (Tiffany) Frerks; sister, Lori (David) Blythe; aunt and uncle, Dennis and Darlene Frerks; her four-legged companion, Sadie; and many nieces and nephews.
Sue brought happiness to everyone around her and will be greatly missed.
A private family service will be held.

Sue was the sweetest gal we met when she lived in Eagle River. She was a busy wife and then mother to two busy young boys . She loved and supported all their athletic endeavors while managing her career and other everyday responsibilities. Her smile was so uplifting .
We lost touch in time but our memories of her kindness and sweetness stayed with us.
We are truly sorry for all her family and friends. You had the best there was.

While I haven’t been in touch with Susie for many years, we just recently reconnected. I enjoyed seeing the photos of Susie & her sons and could see how proud she was. Susie was the most stunningly beautiful girl in high school and she was always so gentle. That’s the word that comes to mind when I think of her. I am so sorry for this loss. Rest In Peace sweet one & God Bless

Sue was one of my absolute FAVORITE nurses at St Elizabeth’s. When I got to work, I would look to see if I was assigned to be her tech. She was so excited about her new fit bit, and her cute new shoes. And I, as the young 19 year old of the floor would always assure her she was the hippest and coolest woman around. I was so so excited to dogsit her Sadie, and learn to can with her. Another sweet soul taken way to soon. I’ll miss you “grandma” Sue, rest beautifully. Your honorary granddaughter always, Katie (p.s.) i still plan to celebrate in April for what would’ve been your retirement, you’ve worked way to hard to not still get your party. Love you.

It was said of Susie that she was a kind soul. Yes. Planted deep within her heart was a love for people, a love for creation: an abiding love for God.
This is what gives us strength in the midst of our deep sorrow. Susie was a cherished sister, mother, nurse, friend, an angel on earth, really. But greatest of all she was, is and will forever be a beloved child of God.

Sue has been my neighbor for the last 10 years. She was known as Ms. Sue to my family. Daily we would share chit chat while bypassing each other. She often spoke about her boys and all their great successes. She enjoyed conversing with my daughter, Sophia who is 11 (she’s known her since she was one) and loved getting a few smiles from Presley, who is four months.
I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Ms. Sue and Sadie will be missed greatly around here.

Anyone who worked with Sue knew EXACTLY how much she loved her sons. I loved hearing her stories of what was new with them. My last shift with Sue she was telling me how excited she was to fly out to CA to see Luke. She smiled from ear to ear telling me how proud she was of each of the boys. I worked with her the night the boys called her while they were on their way to CA to get settled. I saw on her face how happy it made her that they simply called to check in. She truly loved them with all her heart. I will miss that big heart. Everyone at St. E’s is missing you and wishing we just had one more laugh with you.
