James R. Skinner, age 77, died Thursday, April 9, 2020, at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King, which he referred to as his heaven. He was born February 14, 1943, in Massachusetts. James served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime resident of Vista and Oceanside, California before becoming a resident at King. James life revolved around being around the water, and this is one of the reasons he loved King so much.
He is survived by a daughter, Becky Noel, of California; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Skinner, of Oshkosh; two grandchildren, Vanessa Skinner, James Skinner; a great-granddaughter, Lilith Contreras; a step-granddaughter, Jessica Rudd; and a step-great-granddaughter, Xavia Larson.
Preceding James in death were his parents, Richard and Mary Skinner; and his wife, Bonnie Mae Skinner.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, King N2665 Cty Rd QQ Waupaca.
