Duane T. Peterson
Duane T. Peterson, age 78, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2011. He was born March 12, 1933, in LaValle, Wisconsin, son of Lawrence and Agnes (Finnegan) Peterson. Duane graduated high school in Wonewoc, Wisconsin in 1951. On April 15, 1953, he married LaVera Gwin. Duane was an over the road semi driver until his retirement in 1998 due to his health. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Packers, the Brewers, and spending time at their trailer near Tomah.
Duane is survived by his wife of 58 years, LaVera; two daughters, Teresa (Rick) Radtke, Shelly (Troy) Slover; one son, Greg (Jeanne) Peterson; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Radtke, Elysia (Brian) Peterson, Katie (Steve) Casey, Scott, Clint, and Dillan Peterson, Jaymie Peterson, Christopher and Stephanie Clausen; one sister, Carol (Gordon) Terpstra; four great-grandchildren, Abbey Casey, Aliyah Eckstein, and Brooke and Ben Peterson.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gary; one granddaughter, Ashley Peterson; his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; two brothers, Robert and Roscoe Peterson; and two sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Kevin Heffernan officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Winneconne Cemetery on Wednesday, September 21. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Anthony and the nursing staff of P.C.U. 1 at Mercy Medical Center for their support and kindness and the excellent care of Duane.
