LaVonne "Bonnie" Norton
Oshkosh, WI
LaVonne "Bonnie" Norton, age 70 of Oshkosh, formerly of Winneconne, died Friday morning, August 28, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh. She was born on December 15, 1938 in Beaver Dam, WI the daughter of the late Alvin and Normaleen (Kolitz) Opperman. She made her home with her parents in Winneconne and graduated from Winneconne High School. She married Curtis Hoppe on December 5, 1959 and he preceded her in death. Bonnie had been employed at Wagners in Winneconne until they relocated. She married Ralph Norton on May 22, 1981 and they made their home in Borth, WI. Ralph preceded her in death in 1987 at which time she made her home in Winneconne. Bonnie was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Winneconne.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa and Bob Breezee, of Omro; and Tammy and Glen Schave, of Oshkosh; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Judy Opperman, of Redgranite; Robert Opperman, of Borth; David and Kathy Opperman, of Winneconne; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Ted Phillips, and Sharon and Henry Brown, all of Redgranite; Pat Friedauer, of Winneconne; Susan and Edward Marine, and Paula Marine all of Oshkosh; her grandchildren, Josh Hoppe, Nicole and Heather Amundson, and Kandie Franz; and one great-grandson, Trenten Amundson. Bonnie is also survived by three step-sons, Ralph Jr., Tony and Ted Norton; and three step- grandchildren, Kyle, Rebeka, and Alisyn.
Along with her parents and husbands, Bonnie was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law, Darlene and Donald Rankin, and Tom Friedauer.
Bonnie's family would like to thank the nurses on One North and Dr. Weber for all of their love and kindness they extended to Bonnie during her stay at Mercy Medical Center.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the Borth Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

I am saddend to see that Bonnie has passed away. When I lived in Winneconne in the late 60s, Bonnie was a treasured friend of mine...and about the time this friendsip blossomed, our family moved away. I will never forget her kindnesses. My sympathy to all of you. Joan Moran Case
