Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Alice Mary Kachur
Butte des Morts, Wisconsin
Alice Mary Kachur, age 92, of Butte des Morts passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Care Partners of Winneconne following a brief illness. Alice was born on November 28, 1918, to Frank C. and Viola "Ma" (Konrad) Tilly in the town of Black Creek. The family moved to Butte des Morts in 1927 and operated what was then known as The Butte des Morts Inn. Ma Tilly took over after the death of her husband in 1935. Alice married Frank Kachur on September 4, 1943. Frank preceded her in death on October 13, 2000. After Ma Tilly retired in 1960, Frank and Alice ran Tilly's Tavern until their retirement in 1999. Along with Frank and her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brother Frank Tilly and his wife Louise. She is survived by her nephew Kenneth (Bonnie) Tilly of Vacaville, California.
Besides running Tilly's, Alice loved gardening, playing cribbage, telling jokes, and taking trips to the casinos. Frank would always buy a drink on Alice's birthday every Sunday afternoon. She and Frank were avid supporters of the Butte des Morts Lions Club, and the Butte des Morts Conservation Club. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Alice's name to either of these organizations or to the charity of your choice.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Kevin Heffernan officiating. Burial will be in the Winneconne Cemetery. A Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
A special thanks to the loving staff at Care Partners of Winneconne, the second floor Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh, and Asera Care Hospice for taking care of Alice like a family member.
