George Shipman Forbes, Jr., age 70, of the Town of Vinland, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at his home. He was born March 16, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to the late George, Sr. and Elinor (Welles) Forbes. On June 26, 1976, he married Susan Trautman at Heritage Presbyterian Church in Muskego, Wisconsin. For many years George owned and operated an office supply business in Appleton. He was a member of the Appleton Noon Optimist Club, a past-president of the Oil-Aires Stock Club, and was one of the charter investors of American National Bank. George enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid collector of many things.
Surviving George is his wife of 35 years, Susan Forbes; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Lorna Trautman; a brother-in-law, Dennis Trautman; and many cousins and friends.
A Private Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Mara Rivera officiating.
There will be a memorial open house on George's birthday, March 16, 2012, at his home.

WE ARE VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT GEORGE PASSING. I HOPE ALL THE LITTLE TREES THAT HE GOT ARE GROWING BIG AND TALL. HE WILL BE REMEMBERED TO ALL. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COME FOR THE MEMORIAL. Sue--Both Doug and I were sorry to hear about George and send our deepest sympathy. We all go back a long time. We would very much like to attend the memorial open house in George's honor but, unfortunately will be out of town at that time. Please know that we will be thinking of you.

Susan, I was sorry to hear of George's passing. I met him many years ago working at Family Video. He would come in every Tuesday for his movies and give me a "hard time" :). I haven't seen him in a few years, but will always remember him with fond memories.
