Ruth Eake, age 82, of Larsen, died Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. She was born February 2, 1929, in Neenah to the late Gordon and Bernice (Kuchenbecker) Thompson. Ruth was a 1947 graduate of Winneconne High School. On October 7, 1950, she married Kenneth Eake at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. Ruth loved the outdoors, especially gardening. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and making quilts for her grandchildren. Ruth had an adventurous side, liking snowmobiling, fishing, and deer hunting. She also enjoyed frequent road trips to the casino. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clayton.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Eake; her children, Lindy Eake, Steven (Carol) Eake, Ron Eake, Dan (Karen) Eake, Joey Eake (special friend, Amy), Tom (Dawn) Eake, and Keith (Rhonda) Eake; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Eake; twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan (Eugene) Eake; one brother, James (Pat) Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth "Butch" Eake; one sister; one brother; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 3703 Fairview Rd. Neenah, with Pastor Paul Meier officiating. Burial will be on Friday, December 30, in the Clayton Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
