Ronald "Bolty" L. Butt
Berlin, Wisconsin

Ronald "Bolty" L. Butt, age 64, of Berlin, died unexpectedly Friday, January 13, 2012, at his home. He was born April 9, 1947, in Janesville to the late Loren and Susane (Ingold) Butt. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Palmyra High School. Along with helping on the family dairy farm Ron worked for Pluswood Industries in Oshkosh where he met Sandra Opperman, and they were married on June 29, 1968, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. After working at Pluswood Ron went to work at the Berlin Foundry until his retirement on July 13, 2011. Bolty played fast pitch and slow-pitch softball and had been the Berlin High School girls' softball coach. He was an avid bowler and loved golf. Ron enjoyed traveling and the planning that went with it. Much to Sandy's dismay Ron enjoyed ordering many things through the mail. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Winneconne.
Ron is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Butt, of Berlin; daughter, Tina, and three grandchildren, Heather, Theresa, and Brandon, all of Utah; three brothers and one sister, Tom (Sue) Butt, of Berlin; Barbara (James) Williams, of Waunakee; Michael (Ginny) Butt, of Fond du Lac; Mark Butt, of Chicago; his mother-in-law, Clara Opperman, of Winneconne; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie Opperman, of Winneconne; Daniel (Lisa) Opperman, of Oshkosh; Lori (Danny) Kirk, of Fremont; Jan (Ramon) Cruz, of Omro; one step-brother, Marvin Edmonds, of Berlin; many nieces and nephews; many other loving relatives and friends; and his cats, Sophie, Shilo, and Shasta.
Along with his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Carmen Opperman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor John Covach and Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the Winneconne Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, January 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and will continue on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in loving memory of Ron may be made to a local humane society or the American Heart Association.

We always enjoyed Bolty's sense of humor! Also I always remember the great softball rivalry between Berlin Hospital and Barbola-Marchant funeral home. May Ron rest in peace with God in heaven!
