Thomas N. Berner
Allenville, Wisconsin

Thomas N. Berner, age 85, of Allenville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born December 6, 1923, in the town of Winchester, the son of Arthur O. and Amy (Austin) Berner. On October 9, 1976, he married Jeanette Louise Harness, and she preceded him in death on February 19, 1994. For many years Thomas operated a dairy farm near Allenville and continued to live on the farmstead in his years of retirement. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester and also of the Winchester Area Historical Society. Thomas was an avid reader, and he will be remembered by many for his kind and gentle ways, for his sense of humor, and his remarkable memory of times past.
Thomas is survived by his sister, Shirley Campbell, of Tinley Park, Illinois; two daughters, Rhonda Tritt, of Chilton; Carlene (Michael) Milner, of Winchester; five grandchildren, Amanda Tritt, Evan Tritt, Rebekah Milner, Malachi Milner, and Isaiah Milner; and one great-grandchild, Bradley Tritt. He is also survived by a niece, Nancy (Patrick) Conklin; a nephew, Leigh Campbell; a sister-in-law, Sharon Harness; and by cousins and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, Thomas was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, George Campbell.
A Funeral Service for Thomas will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan Luett officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and will continue on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Thomas' family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be given to Grace Lutheran Church or to the Winchester Area Historical Society.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Pastor Dan and Becky Luett for their visits, and to the many folks who remember Tom in their prayers. Thomas' family also wishes to thank his doctors and nurses at Theda Clark Medical Center for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
