Carol E. Pelz

Carol E. Pelz, age 67, of Berlin, died Thursday, February 23, 2012. She was born April 19, 1944, in Berlin to William and Ruth (Piotter) Bloch. On July 16, 1966, Carol married Ron Pelz at the Borth United Methodist Church, where they met as Sunday school classmates. She graduated from Berlin High School in 1962 and attended the Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh receiving her teaching degree in 1966. Carol started her career in the Omro School District as a physical education teacher and later spent many years as a substitute teacher. Until moving to Berlin five years ago, Carol lived her married life on the farm outside of Omro. Carol enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, fishing in Canada, and hunting. She had a passion for beating her brothers in card games and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol was a member of the Borth United Methodist Church, serving as church treasurer for many years.
Carol is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Jennifer Pelz, and their children, Kyle, Jackson, and Lauren Pelz, of Fond du Lac; one daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Tim Bartol, and their children, Josie, Claire, and Becca Bartol, of Berlin; one sister, Geraldine (Richard) Kirchhoff, of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Russell (Diane) Bloch, and Jim (Betty) Block, both of Berlin; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her parents, Carol was also preceded in death by her husband, Ron, on September 26, 2010; and two brothers, Richard and Raymond Bloch.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Borth United Methodist Church, W304 Cty Rd D, with Pastor George Groves officiating. Burial will be in the Borth Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, February 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Carol's name has been established for the Borth United Methodist Church.
