She was born March 14, 1936, in Shawano County, daughter of the late Richard and Edna (Schroeder) Wolfe. Betty graduated from Marion High School, Wisconsin in 1954. She married Daniel A. Betty was devoted to her family and friends. Her husband and family were her world. Her husband was so important to her, that she followed Dan to Germany where he was stationed in December of 1958 to be with him and lived in Germany with him until they moved back to the states in February 1960.
Besides making sure everyone around her was happy and well fed Betty worked different jobs to help with bills but mostly for the friendship. First she worked at Hanson Glove Factory in Clintonville. Later, at Montgomery Ward and Westridge Tomato Ranch both of Neenah, Kmart in Appleton and the favorite of all was Taft School in food service where she was surrounded by all her' kids.
Betty was passionate about life. Her many passions included dancing with her favorite dance partner, Dan. Rummaging and bartering at garage sales, ceramics, traveling and collecting whatever tickled her fancy. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester, Wisconsin.
Betty is survived by her husband, Dan; her children, Greg (Marcia) Pockat, Ripon; Deb (Larry) Johnson, Poynette; four grandsons, Matt Pockat, Fuchiyama, Japan; Scott Pockat, Oshkosh; Tom Pockat, Ripon; Lane Johnson, Poynette. Betty is also survived by her precious sisters, Carol (Larry) Westphal, Clintonville; Patricia (Richard) Bahr, Shawano; her brother-in-law, Ray (Shirley) Pockat, Caroline; and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rueben and Esther Pockat.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan Luett officiating. Oh, Dan. What a shock! Randy called me from school, saying that a neighbor had called the school, so I knew about it before noon on Tuesday. She was just the best person. She loved her polka dancing and all the friends she had on the dance floors. I love the picture of all us girls in our red and white dancing outfits when I had my retirement dance at Romy's, June 10, 2001. What a day! She sure will be missed on the dance floors. She was your partner for 56 years. You take care, Dan. ARL
