Arden M. Christianson, age 83, of Winneconne, died Friday, March 23, 2012. He was born March 27, 1928, to the late Arlen and Elyda (Mathison) Christianson. On October 29, 1949, Arden married Lorraine Rohde at Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha. Arden farmed until the late 60's, then was employed at the Larsen Co-op for several years, and finished his working career at 4X. He loved playing cards and Friday fish frys.
Arden is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine Christianson; one son, David (Teresa) Christianson; four grandchildren, Megan Schultz, Josh Schultz, Heather Christianson, and Heidi Christianson; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Knigge, and Kaiden and Skylar Schaible.
Along with his parents, one daughter, Diane Schultz; and two grandchildren, Jared and Justin Christianson, also preceded Arden in death.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan Luett officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
He was bound to the land from the day of his birth
His roots anchored deep in the fertile earth
Nurtured, sustained, by the soil he grew
And his life, like his furrows, ran straight and true
In faith, each spring, he planted the seeds
In hope, to reap for his family's needs
With patience, he waited for the harvest to come
To gather the fruits of his labor home.
Ever turning seasons, the years sped past
Till the final harvest came at last
Then claimed anew by beloved sod
He was gathered home to be with God.

Dear Lorraine, I worked for you and Ardie on the farm from 1963 through 1965. You both treated me so well and it was the some of the best years of my life. Ardie was a great teacher and a wonderful mentor. We will miss him dearly. With love, Merv Heuer
