Thomas F. Sartor, Sr.
Grand Chute, Wisconsin

Thomas F. Sartor, Sr., age 83, of Grand Chute, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2012, and is now in the arms of our Savior with his beloved wife and son. He was born March 10, 1929, in Chicago to the late Ferdinand and Marcel (Daumas) Sartor. Tom served his country in the U.S. Navy. On September 22, 1951, he married Fern Ritchie. Tom was an avid golfer, and he and Fern loved being on the water boating. After their retirement they enjoyed traveling in their motor home. Tom and Fern lived in Florida for a few years after retiring, but moved back to Grand Chute to spend more time with their family. On March 16, 2009, Fern preceded Tom in death after 57 years of marriage. Following Fern's death Tom's passion became bingo and he enjoyed taking many bus trips to the casino.
Tom is survived by his two children, Thomas Sartor, Jr., of Appleton; Renee (Christopher) Sumnicht, of Winneconne; grandchildren, Jenee (Jeff) Wohlrabe, of Appleton; Jennifer (Adam) Baker, of Winneconne; Kaitlin Sumnicht, of Winneconne; great-grandchildren, Christopher Sumnicht, Taylor Baker, Steven Baker, and Hayden Wohlrabe; one sister, Mary Ann (Don) Turner; an extended member of the family, Ashley (Greg) Iamia; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Tom was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Sartor; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harley and Carrie Ritchie.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne, with Fr. Luke Ferris and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass.
