Carlton W. Maronn, age 91, a resident of Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, went to be with his wife Gladys, and his heavenly Father, on Friday, September 25, 2009. He was born August 21, 1918, in the Town of Poygan to the late Carl and Bertha (Meyer) Maronn. Carlton was a graduate of Omro High School. On August 15, 1942, he married Gladys E. Meyer at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. For 38 years Carlton farmed in the Town of Oshkosh, and while farming he also worked at Wagner's Cheese Factory, Maple Leaf Dairy, Wisconsin Implement Company, Leach Company, Wisconsin Axle, and Faust Motors. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne where he was involved in the Men's club, was a church council member for 5 years, and played dart ball. For 25 years, Carlton was a Town of Oshkosh volunteer fireman, and he also served as a County Committee Member for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He enjoyed fishing and reading.
Carlton is the devoted father of Marcia (Dennis) Strube, Robert (Lou) Maronn, Ronald (Connie) Maronn, and Patricia (Thomas) Rosanske; loving grandfather of Kimberly (Scott) Fuller, William (Karin) Strube, Denise (Jeremy) Grinnell, Mark (Ashlyn) Maronn, Justin (Sarah) Maronn, Faith Maronn, Matthew Rosanske, Rebecca (Nathan) Tolbert, Rachel Rosanske, Andrea Gust, and Rhonda (Laus) Mwakalebela; great-grandfather of Hannah, Abigail, and Victoria Fuller, Kyli Morgan, Kalea Maronn, Kyria, Kristine, and Kassandra Grinnell; dear brother of Lillian Genrich, and Loyal (Jean) Maronn; and other family and friends.
Along with his parents, Carlton was also preceded in death by his wife Gladys, on September 4, 2009.
A Funeral Service for Carlton will held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht and Pastor John Covach officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carlton's name may be made to the charity of your choice

Marcia, Bob, Pat, Ron and families, Bill and I are so very sorry for your loss. You are correct your dad needed to be with your mom. Bill and I are in CA and will be unable to attend the service but please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I do not have addresses to send cards but I will send a check to the church in your dad's name. Our prayers are with you - love to all Bill and Mary Davis
