Angeline L. Johnson

Angeline L. Johnson, age 90, passed away peacefully in the late evening of September 30, 2009, at the Augusta Area Home in Augusta, Wisconsin near the home of her daughter. Angeline lived most of her adult life in the Larsen area.
She was born on February 13, 1919, in Fargo, North Dakota, daughter of the late Gust and Laura (Gilbertson) Anderson. During her childhood she and her family lived in Minnesota and in Milwaukee. On October 28, 1948, she married Raymond L. Johnson and they were married almost 56 years living most of those years on their farm north of Winchester and later in New London. Angie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. She worked at several office jobs over the years, retiring in 1977 after working 18 years as office secretary for the Visiting Nurses Association in Neenah. Besides working full-time, Angie enjoyed cooking, canning, bread making, sewing, gardening, yard work, holiday craft projects, teaching Sunday school, and reading. Angie was always a secretary at heart, taking notes of lectures, TV interviews, and books she read. She often clipped articles from the newspaper to save or give to others. Angie kept a personal diary for years and years. She loved learning about history, politics, health and nutrition, religion, and people. She had a great curiosity about others and always had questions to ask and information to share.
Angeline is survived by her two daughters, Jacalyn Feit, of Osseo, Wisconsin; and Andrea (Daniel) Slagoski, of Antigo, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Holly (Brent) Boers, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; and Andrew Feit, of Glenolden, Pennsylvania; one great-grandchild, Brady Mevis, of Manitowoc; one brother, Alerd (Germaine) Anderson, of Larsen; sister-in-law, Iona Anderson, of Larsen; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, and one brother, Loren I. Anderson.
A Funeral Service for Angeline will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan Luett officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
