Martin A. Beck

Martin A. Beck, age 85, of Oshkosh, formerly of Winneconne, died on Memorial Day, Monday May 28, 2012, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. He was born on March 28, 1927, one of fifteen children, to the late Ervin and Amanda Beck. On October 11, 1947, Martin married June Eldridge in Oxnard, California. For 30 years, Martin served in the U.S. Navy and he and June had resided in various countries and the United States following his military career. In 1980, Martin and June settled in Winneconne and he worked as a wastewater treatment operator for the village of Winneconne until his retirement. Martin was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne.
Martin is survived by four grandchildren, Janna and Tony Tegone, of New York, New York; Michael Henry, Angela Beck, both of Oshkosh; Amanda Scott, of Walworth, Wisconsin; a son-in-law, Vernon Birkholz, of Oshkosh; and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Martin was also preceded in death by his wife June Beck, on October 30, 2010; two daughters, Debra A. Scott, Marty Birkholz; and numerous brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Winneconne Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Dick & I are so sorry to hear about Martin Passing . We have felt Blessed to have known Martin & his wife June .He had some great stories that he shared with my husband & I .We do know that he lived Life fully courageously & passionately ! We realize you have lost a special Grandfather . He will remain very alive in our memories & admiration . No More Tears Past the Gate ....
