Esther "Terry" Kelley, age 83, of Butte des Morts, died Friday, October 12, 2012, at home after a nine year illness with ALS in which she demonstrated great courage and grace. She was born December 1, 1928, in Bronxville, New York to the late Leo and Teresa (Ryan) Neagle.
Terry was a R.N. graduate of Westchester County Hospital, and in 1950 she started working at the Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York. From June of 1952 until June of 1954, Terry served as a nurse at the U.S. Navy Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia.
On January 30, 1953, she married Thomas Joseph Kelley in Portsmouth, Virginia. From 1985 until 1992 Terry worked as an office nurse for her husband, Dr. Thomas Kelley.
Terry is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas J. Kelley, M.D., of Butte des Morts; two children and their families, Christopher J. Kelley, MD and Linda (Lisse) Kelley and their two daughters, Cassiana and Kayla Kelley, of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin; Karen (Kelley) and Randy Krause, of Appleton, and three children, Damion Drover (Shahida Persad), of Blacksburg, VA; Dustin Drover (Michelle), of Appleton and Jonathan Drover of Minneapolis, MN.
Along with her parents, Esther was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Helen Neagle.
The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the Ronald McDonald House.
