Cleona A. (Heath) Schmid, age 89, formerly of Winneconne, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King.
She was born March 26, 1923, in New Albin, Iowa to the late John and Anna (Brennan) Magnuson. On August 30, 1941, Cleona married Clarence Heath in Winneconne, and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1979. On November 14, 1980, she married Bernard Schmid.
Cleona was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne, where she was a member of its Altar Society, had taught catechism, and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Cleona is survived by three children, Sharlie Schueler, Ronald (Rita) Heath, Michael (Mary Kay) Heath, all of Menasha; grandchildren, Julia (Lynn) Schueler, Kelly (Jim) Brodhagen, Pauline (Jim) Moran, William (Debbie) Schueler, John (Jessica) Heath, Rebecca (James) Anderson, and Kathryn (Chris) Rhodes; four great-grandchildren; a step-son, Lamonte Schmid; two sisters, Mary Will, Elaine (Gordon) Moran; and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and first husband Clarence, Cleona was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brenda Shaver and Vincent Heath; one great-grandson, Scott Schueler; two brothers, Clarence and Sylvester Magnuson; and two sisters, Genevieve Nigl and Esther Suda.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 15 at Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne, with Fr. Doug LeCaptain and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Winneconne Cemetery.
