Shirley A. Krueger, age 84, of Neenah, died Monday, April 19, 2021, at Misty Arbor Assisted Living in Appleton. She was born February 7, 1937, in Oshkosh to the late Harvey and Esther (Sawallish) Berholtz. On June 15, 1957, Shirley married Richard Krueger at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and they were married 50 years before Richard’s passing on July 9, 2007. For 13 years she drove bus for the Winneconne Schools, and for 15 years Shirley was employed at Kohl’s in Neenah, working in the children’s and men’s departments as well as the stock room. She was a long-time member of Martin Luther Church-Neenah, the Cruising Paths Snowmobile Club, and had served on the Board of Directors of the Disabled Citizens Organization.

Shirley is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Krueger, Tom Heise, Lisa and Lynn MacDonald; grandchildren, Dwight Kaiser, Ross Kaiser, Erin (Nathanael) Brown, Mackenzie (Brad) Ferstenou, Kali (Charlie) Fennema, Hunter MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Zeekiel, Augusta, Brianna, Myah, Leah; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Dennis and Pam Berholtz, Judy Berholtz; AFS daughter, Margaret Finlayson, of Australia; and other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Heise, on October 4, 2019; and a brother, Bill Berholtz.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Luther Church 436 S. Lake St. Neenah. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Jason Oakland and Pastor Tyler Shinnick officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh on Monday, April 26. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family.

Shirley’s family wishes to thank the Misty Arbor Assisted Living staff for the love and care they showed to their mom, and the Generations Home Care & Hospice nurses for the comfort and peace they showed her in her last days. They also wish to thank Martin Luther Church and Mueller Funeral Home for their help with the funeral arrangements.

Lisa, Not sure you remember me from Genes. I played bingo with your Mom and made some birthday cards for her. I lost track of Shirley when she left Grand America but thought of her often. My condolences to your family for your loss, but I know that you have many loving memories that will help you through this.
