My heartfelt sympathies to your family. I loved visiting Mary's shop, I didn't get out there often, but she was always so friendly and helpful. I made a queen size triple irish chain quilt that is currently on my bed. I will think of Mary everytime when I look at this quilt. Prayers to you all!

Im very sorry to hear of the death of your mother, Mary. My son, David Kuhl, is now 26 years old. As a child he was always interested in art always working on a special project and Mary encouraged that. I would bring Dave into YDS and his eyes would just pop! One time when he was about 4 he told me when he died, he hoped heaven was just like YDS. J As a mom, I so appreciated how very patient she was with my son while he browsed through the store. Mary was one of the special adults my child was fortunate enough to encounter. I know she will be missed! Nia (Kuhl) Westover

Mary will forever hold a special place in my heart. She always had a smile when I came into her shop.Mary was such a hard worker and loved her family . I will always remember the conversations we had. Mostly we talked about Dorothy and Eve.... grandsons were so dear to her. Mary shared quilts with me that were created by her family. I duplicated one of the quilts but realize that it can not ever compare. I will always remember my dear friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing, I drove past the house and store just a lil over a week ago and thought about her. I shopped the store a few times, and if what I was looking for was not hiding in the building Mary would special order it for me, it was great knowing that I could get exactly what I was looking for. The craft world has lost a terrific lady. I know she is making Heaven a little prettier.
