Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Gretchyn M. Weisgerber, 78, of Winneconne, died at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 20, 2021.
Gretchyn was many things to many people, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and friend to many.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughters, Julie (Dave) Flanagan, Lori (David) Kane, Jamie (Doug) Hansen; and a son, David (Katie). She has six grandchildren that were so special to her, she loved being Grammy to Beau Flanagan (Ashley), Maggie Kane, Noah and Sabrina Hansen, and Olen and Lilly Weisgerber.
Gretchyn was born October 30, 1942, the only child of Larry and Clara Ilk. She grew up in Oshkosh and lived there until her and Dave were married on August 18, 1962. A year later they moved to New London where they raised their family and made many lifelong friends.
Gretchyn was a “mom” to many, that was her nature to be kind, loving, caring, and a great listener.
In 1998 Gretchyn and Dave moved to Winneconne and have enjoyed many days and evenings out on their deck with friends and neighbors watching the sunsets and solving life’s problems.
Gretchyn also became a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne and took on the job of keeping the church beautiful for all of the seasons.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Oshkosh at a later date. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to special friend and care giver to the end, Roxy. Thank you does not seem enough but know that she was our rock through this journey.

We were neighbors when we lived on Sunset Trail. When I would take walks with the kids she would always come out to say hi and give them a little treat. She was so wonderful and kind. My deepest condolences to her family.
