Freda M. Mann, age 102, of Winneconne, passed away peacefully Friday, February 22, 2013, at home with her loved ones around her. She was born August 23, 1910, in Cedar City, Michigan to the late Frederick and Maybelle (Lackie) Dechow. On January 1, 1929, Freda married William Mann. She was very involved in the raising of many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, having lived with some of her children during her lifetime. After moving to Winneconne Freda became involved in her community; working with the Red Cross Loan Closet, volunteering at the Advocap meal site, and being active in the Ladies Aid at her church, St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran in Winneconne. She spent many pleasant hours with her friends in a smear card club. Freda enjoyed needle craft, was a wonderful seamstress, and faithfully read the Bible every night.
Freda is survived by two daughters, Barb Falk, of Winneconne; Joyce (Charles) Adams, of Maine; a daughter-in-law, Louise Mann, of Plummer, Idaho; one brother, Frederick Dechow, of Lake Leelanau, Michigan; twenty-five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Freda was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Mann, Sr. on July 11, 1967; one son, William J. Mann, Jr.; two daughters, Peggy Bennett and Coralee Cole; and eight sisters and brothers, Clarissa, Voda, Erma, Veryl, Claude, Gerald, Claire, and Gwen.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht and Pastor John Covach officiating. Inurnment will be in the Winneconne Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Freda's family wishes to thank Bev, Tammy, Amy, and Jean from the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association, and especially Louise Mann, for the special care giving, gentleness, and compassion shown to her. They all went above and beyond in caring for her.

Please accept our condolences. I consider myself fortunate to have met and known Freda through the Advocap program. I have many happy memories of the "pokeeno" group with her. She was a great lady.

Our sincerest sympathy to Aunt Freda's entire family. She certainly lived life to the fullest all her days here on earth. May you find peace as you share the many stories we are sure you have in your memory banks. We will miss seeing her at the annual reunion.
