Benjamin Paul Jarke, age 78, of Winneconne, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born January 25, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Benjamin M. and Gertrude (Roberts) Jarke. Ben served his country in the U.S. Army. On February 4, 1961, he married Donna Lichtenfels at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Skokie, Illinois. Ben worked as a carpenter for Local 181 for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and boating, going to the Oneida Casino, EAA, the Packers, and an ice cold beer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.
Ben is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna , of Winneconne; two daughters and their families, Veronica (Jason) Robinson, of Winneconne, and their children, Remy and Brock; Jennifer (Paul) Kropidlowski, of Menasha, and their son, Lance; two step-grandchildren, Brandon and Coty; one sister, Jeanne Hansen, of McHenry, Illinois; sister-in-law, Anita Jarke, of San Antonio, Texas; an aunt, Louise Liss, of Belvidere, Illinois; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Along with his parents, Ben was also preceded in death by one brother, Norman Jarke; sister-in-law, Patricia Colaianne; and best friend, John Dorband.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr., Winneconne, with Fr. Luke Ferris and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, March 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St., Winneconne, where at Tribute to a Veteran service will be held at 7:30 p.m. immediately followed by a Prayer service. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Ben's family wishes to thank Dr. Duwell, Dr. Wilson, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU and 2nd Floor at Aurora Medical Center for all of the special care given to him.

Ben I enjoyed seeing you at all the fishery's with your scooter and your custom beer holder. You where one great and tough guy, you will be missed very much at the fishery, have fun in heaven.

Donna and family, im sorry for your loss. Ben has been my friend since i started coming to Winneconne more than twenty years ago. I shared many laughs and many beers with my friend and i will miss him terribly.I can only hope he didnt suffer in the end, and we all must remember he is in a better place now.I will not be able to attend Bens service due to work conflicts.
