Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Lawrence "Doc" H. Langeberg, age 96, of Winneconne, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Omro Care Center. He was born February 17, 1917, in Britton, South Dakota to the late Albert and Mary (Buhring) Langeberg. In 1936, Lawrence moved to Wisconsin and worked for Warner Bohn Farms. In 1938, he married Eunice Luzinske and they moved back to South Dakota. Two years later Doc and Eunice moved back to Wisconsin and farmed in the Omro area. Eunice preceded Lawrence in death in December of 1971, and in August of 1973 he married Marie "Tootie" (Reinke) Henriksen. Upon his retirement from farming in 1979, Larry and Tootie moved to Winneconne. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows, and has been a long time member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. Doc enjoyed traveling and snowmobiling.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Marie "Tootie" Langeberg, of Winneconne; four children, Eugene Langeberg (significant other, Ingrid Hanson), of Hudson, Wisconsin; Mike (Nancy) Langeberg, of Tomahawk; Albert (Anna) Langeberg, of Maryland; Esther (Al) Losinske, of Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Ernest Langeberg, of Omro; two sisters, Mary Bushman, of Washington; Emma Hayes, of Neenah; three step-daughters, Gail (Thomas) Mandli, of Peshtigo; Patricia (Norman, Jr.) Marine, of Winneconne; Melanie (Michael) Molash, of Marquette, Michigan; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and first wife, Larry was also preceded in death by an infant son, Howard Henry Langeberg; six brothers and three sisters, Albert, Freda Kooistra, Art, John "Jack", Herman, Agnes Castle, Bertram, Eleanor Doro, and Lee; and a daughter-in-law, Judith (Augsburger) Langeberg.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht and Pastor John Covach officiating. Burial will be in the Omro Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Great man & friend for letting a neighborhood boy be his shadow around their farm. When I was 8 the first tractor I ever sat on was his 460 Farmall and he explained all the controls gauges. While green chopping fields I stood on the back of his Farmall M. Now these fields are all homes built in the last 40 years. Many summers helped him baling hay and work in the loft. Eunice paid me $1.50 to $2.00! Spent my big earnings at Beahms store on tooth decay. LOL Thank you Lawrence for sharing your experience about your farm & life.

I am so sorry about your loss of Uncle Lawrence. I am so glad that I got to see him in August at the family reunion. The few times I was able to come to Wisconsin, I always enjoyed talking with him. Love & hugs.
