Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Donald "Don" Uttecht, Sr., age 72, formerly of Winneconne, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Century Oaks in Oshkosh, after a courageous 30 year battle with MS.
He was born on August 20, 1940, the son of Arnold and Phyllis Uttecht. At age 45 Don retired from Menasha Corp. after 20+ years due to MS. He had many interests including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, "arm wrestling", and spending time with family and friends. Don loved his Winneconne "lake home." He never let his MS get him down; he had a very positive attitude that he could do it. Love you Dad.
Don is survived by his children, Debra (John) Esch, of Winneconne; Donald, Jr. (Lori) Uttecht, of Texas; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristie, Sheena, and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Devan, Brice, Caleb, and Shyann. He is also survived by one brother, Bob (Judy) Uttecht, of Wittenberg; nieces and nephews, Wayne (Mary) Uttecht, of Neenah; Dave (Cathy) Uttecht, of Menasha; Danny (Holly) Uttecht, of Menasha; Deb (Jim) Schmitz, of Hortonville; Luann Nickolas, of Neenah; Jeff (Mary) Uttecht, of Wittenberg; Julie Uttecht, of Antigo; Shelley Uttecht (Dennis), of Menasha; Steve (Tracy) Uttecht, of Wittenberg; Lori (Gerald) Smith, of Marion; Rick Uttecht, of Birnamwood; and Robbie (Paula) Uttecht, of Wittenberg.
Preceding Don in death were his parents; two brothers, Wayne, Sr. and Jamie Uttecht; and Dorothy Pavlak, mother of his children.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, with Pastor David Eisley officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Cemetery in Birnamwood. A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Don's family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh for their wonderful care during his recent illness.
