Betty Jeane Jackson, age 83, of Omro, went to her eternal home Thursday morning, October 15, 2009, at her home in Webster Manor. She was born in Winneconne on February 20, 1926 to William and Elsie (Frerks) Mueller. Betty graduated from Winneconne High School and attended Oshkosh Teachers College for 2 ½ years. On June 26, 1948 she married Ray C. Jackson, and they owned and operated Hickory Knoll Dairy in Omro. Betty delivered school milk, did the bookwork, and with Ray they raised their four children. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Omro, where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Omro Service League, and for many years the VFW Auxiliary Post 8493, Omro. Betty also was a 4-H leader, and had cooked for the Omro Fire Department.
Betty is survived by her sister, Shirle Schwaller; sister-in-law, Iva Mae Edminster; her four children, Vicky (Ray) Knapwurst; Thomas (Nancy) Jackson; Robert (Sharon) Jackson; and Timothy (Georgia) Jackson; ten grandchildren, Kerri (Tom) Leverence, Kim Knapwurst (Ryan), Lori Jackson, Gregory Jackson (Beth), Jody (John) Buttke, Tori (Ryan) Fink, Tonya Jackson (Mark), Trevor Jackson, Justin (Marilyn) Jackson, Kristin Jackson (Adam); great-grandchildren, Jadyn Leverence, Carson Buttke, Taylor and Tyler Fink, Brynn Jackson, and baby-to-be.
Along with her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray, on February 4, 1999.
A Funeral Service for Betty will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Ed Slusser officiating. Burial will be in the Omro Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, October 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Betty's family would like to thank the staffs of Webster Manor and Heartland Hospice for the love and care they gave to their Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma.
