Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Jake "Happy" Gilmore passed away unexpectedly July 11, 2013, as a result of a car accident. He was born July 27, 1985, to Bruce and Dorry Gilmore. Jake was one of a kind. Born with much determination, he accomplished so much in his short life. From the beginning years when his dad strapped him into the tractor (car seat and all) to these past years farming with his good friend Mike. For the first time, Jake planted his own fields this past spring. He was a strong, hard-working man who loved his family and friends. There was not a thing he wouldn't do for anybody. These seemed to be the gifts God intended for him to share. The love of the land and his giving ways. Always humble when a compliment came his way with a return of a dimpled-bashful smile and rosy cheeks. Just a flash of that grin would bring a smile to anyone's face. Jake cared deeply for those close to him. He showed this in many subtle ways. It could never be argued that once you were a part of his life, you would have a special place there forever. It's hard for us to understand why we should lose someone like this. But we pray for faith, strength, and peace knowing that he is now our angel from above. Perhaps now Jake can be in all the places he wants to be all at one time. His gifts are now meant to be shared through God's graceful wings. Do not doubt for a moment that he is not beside you. No man with that much determination and goodness would ever let anything keep him far from those he loves.
Jacob is survived by his mother, Dorene Gilmore (special friend, Gary Manteufel); two loving brothers, Jason, of Allenville; and Cole, Sarah, and Hudson Bruce, of Oshkosh; a special little girl so dear to his heart, Raeann; his very special forever friend, Tawnie Kiel; two special "brothers", Shawn Henke and Ed Jacoby; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Darlene Eckstein, of Allenville; paternal grandmother, Betty Gilmore, of Manawa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, "Shrimpy", Mike and Jane Pamer, David and Charmaine Allen; Godfather, Roydon Fahley; Godmothers, Joan (Gilmore) Vandenberg and Heidi (Eckstein) Jetty; and numerous friends, too many too mention.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce; and paternal grandfather, Frank Gilmore.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne, with Fr. Doug LeCaptain and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Cremation will follow. A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Dorry - Words can't express our sympathy. Jake was dearly loved by many...and now he is working God's green pastures with those that have gone before us. "When someone you Love becomes a Memory, that Memory becomes a Treasure!"
You'll be dearly missed, Jake!
