Robert F. Waters, age 96, of Winneconne, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. He was born July 20, 1917, in the town of Algoma to the late William and Katherine (Porte) Waters. Bob served his country during World War II in the Navy as a baker. On May 6, 1939, he married the one and only love of his life, Edna Baier. For 30 years Bob worked for Rockwell International in Oshkosh until his retirement in 1977. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time at the family cottage on Lake Winneconne.
Bob was a devoted, caring husband, father, and grandfather who gave all to his family. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Edna Waters, of Oshkosh; three sons, Jerry (Kathy) Waters, of Winneconne; Ron (Debra) Waters, of Winneconne; and Rick (Cheri) Waters, of Omro; eight grandchildren, Jami (Scott) Sebastian, Shelby (Marshall) Rasmussen, Brent Waters (special friend, Rochelle Biermann), Rhonda (Tim) Whitford, Laura (Chris) Bahr, Wendy (Dan) Peterson, Michael (Nikol) Waters, Kristy Waters; sixteen great-grandchildren, Brendon, Brea, Abby, Brooke, Camryn, Brandon, Kylee, Mya, Cali, Zachary, Morgan, Alex, Brynn, Lyla, Coley, and Brett; two brothers, Stanley (Gert) Waters, Billy (Sandy) Waters; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Ray, Dolly, Eloise, Frank, Myrtle, LeRoy, Marcella, Phyllis, and Doris.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht and Pastor John Covach officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials may be made in Bob's name to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Winneconne.
Bob's family wishes to thank Pastor Albrecht, Pastor Covach, and the staff at Eden Meadows for all of the care and support given to him, and thanks for taking care of "Pops".

Uncle Bob will never be forgotten. Being at the cottage meant seeing Uncle Bob sitting on his deck or on his John Deere Tractor enjoying the lake and all who were there. He will truly be missed and my heart goes out to Aunt Edna and his wonderful family.
