Ardene Starr went to be with her Lord God on August 29, 2013. Ardene was born at home across the river from Eureka on February 13, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Weiss) Steinke On December 27, 1944, Ardene married Donald Starr, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1989. She took pride in being a hospice volunteer for over 22 years. Ardene enjoyed being with her family, her Waukau Methodist church family, her friends, and neighbors. Ardene always found time to visit friends in the nursing homes and was an active member of multiple bible study groups.
Ardene is survived by a sister, Betty Posorske; three children and their spouses, Marie (Bill) Cork, Annette (Tom) Esser, and Joe (Amy) Starr. She has seven grandchildren and their partners, Julie (Robin) Cork, Jaime (Frank) VandenBranden, David (Amy) Esser, Mike Esser, Lindsay (Brad) Johnson, Nicole Starr, and Danielle Starr. Ardene also has six plus great-grandchildren, Alexandra Cork, Brody VandenBranden , Savanna VandenBranden, Summit Esser, Hayle Esser, Isaac Johnson, and to-be-named Johnson.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Waukau United Methodist Church, 2644 Hwy 116, Waukau, with Pastor Kristen Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Waukau Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, September 2 at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
