Arlyn Evelyn (nee Otto) Schano, age 89, passed away peacefully in her recent home, in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 6, 2013. Born on January 29, 1924, in Oshkosh, she was raised and attended school in the Omro area. On June 19, 1944, Arlyn married Donald Schano. A homemaker in Winneconne, Arlyn was active in the Altar Society at St. Mary Catholic Church, the Winneconne Historical Society, and Wisconsin DAR. A life-long learner, avid reader, Scrabble and word game enthusiast, she was proud to best any college graduate!
Arlyn is survived by her loving family, daughters, Carolyn (Josef) Walter, Janet (John) Schiessl, and Valerie (Gary) Lower; five grandchildren, Jennifer Gill, Jeanne Ford, Beth Studdiford, Andrew Schiessl, and Samantha Schano; and boasted eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding Arlyn in death was her husband of 67 years, Donald; her son, Joseph; and a granddaughter, Hollie Reinert.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. Burial to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Poygan. A visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 until the time of the service.
