Elaine E. Abendroth, age 83, formerly of Winneconne, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Omro Care Center. She was born January 19, 1930, in West Bloomfield to the late Edwin and Lydia Baehman. On September 29, 1956, Elaine married George "Bud" Abendroth in Weyauwega and they made their home in Winneconne. For many years Elaine was employed with JI Case/Ingersoll until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. Elaine and Bud enjoyed spending their summers in Crivitz, and in 2001, they made it their home. On April 18, 2003, Bud preceded Elaine in death and later in 2003, she moved back to Winneconne. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Elaine is survived by two daughters, Debra Jean (Robert "Bob") Malchow, of Omro; Jody Lynn (Steve) Brooks, of Omro; her grandchildren, Brad (Stephanie), Travis (Noelle), Aaron (Jennifer), Stacy (Matt), Crystal, Robbi, and David; great-grandchildren, Myles, Jozy, Traxtyn, Grant, Lydia, Lucus, Brielle, Tyson, and Peyton; one sister, Joyce (Roger) Schuh, of Readfield; two sisters-in-law, Mary Baehman, of Weyauwega; Joanne Abendroth, of Winneconne; brother-in-law, Olin Soderlin, of Oshkosh; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Elaine was also preceded in death by two infant sons; an infant great-grandson, Seth Cumbie; two brothers, Eugene and Wallace Baehman; a niece, Pamela Jean Tanner; one brother-in-law, Robert "Bizz" Abendroth; and one sister-in-law, Sondra Soderlin.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor John Covach and Pastor Mark Albrecht will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
Elaine's family wishes to thank the staffs of Omro Care Center and Affinity Hospice, especially Rachael, April, and Barb for all of the care given to her. They also would like to specially thank good friends, Erv and Jan Schmude, Donna Berens, Mike and Kathy Hartzheim, and many other friends. An extra special thanks to Pastor John Covach and Pastor Mark Albrecht for their many visits and prayers.
