Robert C. Hebert, age 84, of Appleton, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born November 7, 1928, in Oconto to the late Charles and Emma Hebert. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army. On June 16, 1951, he married Lucille Schimmels at St. Sebastian Church in Milwaukee. Bob had worked at Midwest Tire, then for Ace Hardware Corp., where he became a vice-president. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks and the American Legion Post 38 of Appleton. Bob loved cooking, enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille Hebert, of Appleton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Gary Gardner, of Winneconne; Patty and Marv Pohl, of Appleton; grandchildren, Gina (Dean) Nikodem, Guy (Cami) Gardner, Jenny (Jeff) Brand, Robin (Shane) Hoppe; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bernadette Mrozek; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by three sisters.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace St. Combined Locks, with a Funeral Mass to be held at 3:00 p.m. Fr. Andrew Kysely and Deacon George Schraufnagel will officiate. Military honors will follow. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Heart Association.
