John J. Kraft, age 80, of Winneconne/Town of Poygan, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at home. He was born June 26, 1933, in Menasha to the late Joseph and Marie (Weisgerber) Kraft. John was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary's School in Menasha. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 11, 1959, John married Dru Klaus at St. Mary's Church in Menasha. For many years John worked at Appleton Wire Works until his retirement. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. John loved watching the birds near his home. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne, and the Giles-Luce American Legion Post 364, Winneconne.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dru Kraft, of Winneconne/Town of Poygan; three children, Jeff Kraft, Natalie Kraft, both of Prescott, Wisconsin; Steve Kraft, of Winneconne; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Naomi Kassube, of Wittenberg; Lee and Joann Klaus, of Schofield; and nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, John was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erich and Dorothy Klaus; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Len Wieloch; Shirley and Jack Jahnke; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and Ralph Erickson.
A Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, November 15, 2013, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Doug LeCaptain and Sr. Pam Biehl will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local food pantry or Humane Society of your choice.

Uncle John was always such a character. I will always remember his smile and laugh...how he and dad used to always horse around.....stories they would tell. I imagine the reunion he had with our heavenly family was warm and joyous. Love you all. Our hearts are with you.
