Katherine Elizabeth Jacobson, age 78, of Winneconne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 2, 2013. She was born January 13, 1935, in Oshkosh to the late Adam and Anna (Weitz) Luft. Kathy graduated from Roosevelt High School in Oshkosh in 1953. For 8 years, she worked for Wisconsin Public Service prior to getting married. On November 19, 1960, Kathy married Dixon Jacobson in Oshkosh and they made their home and worked the Jacobson family farm in the Town of Winneconne. Dixon preceded her in death on February 21, 2006. Kathy enjoyed homemaking, gardening, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She has been attending Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Winneconne.
Kathy is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Don Mathison, Bonnie and David Mueller; one son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Karen Jacobson, all of Winneconne; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Mandy, Jack, Dane, Jillian, and Jason. She is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Jim Hahn, of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, June Luft, of Oshkosh; Joyce and Frank Buss, of Caroline, Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, December 6, 2013, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 6090 Harbour South (corner of Harbour South and Hwy 116) Winneconne. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kevin Heffernan officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester.
