Alvin Schramm, age 77, of Winneconne, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at home. He was born November 18, 1936, in Milwaukee. Al served his country in the U.S. Navy. On August 6, 1987, he married Sandra Moore in Phoenix, Arizona. For many years, Al worked as a mechanic for Northwestern Elevator, and for 20 years he was an instructor for the National Elevator Trade, which he truly enjoyed. Al also enjoyed boating, musicals, dancing, the Packers, and was a fan of dirt track racing and NASCAR. He was a member of Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Winneconne.
Al is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandra Schramm, of Winneconne; daughters, Andrea (John) Miller, of Kenosha; Traci Alberts, of California; son, Chris Jarvis, of Milwaukee; six grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Shirley) Hofstetter, of Waukesha; Richard (Shirlee) Hofstetter, of Fremont; sister, Patsy (Leonard) Simoneau, of Brookfield; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hofstetter, of Winneconne; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Al in death were his mother and father, Olive and Robert Miller; daughter, Cynthia Schramm; brothers and their wives, Gordon and Annie Sperb, Gene and Stella Sperb, Gerald Hofstetter, Robert and Elaine Hofstetter.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, December 21, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Heffernan officiating. Military honors will follow and burial will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.

al is now at a better place he can rest easy now and you can get back to a maybe not so streeful life. you will always miss him he will keep any eye on you we are her for you.

Dear Sandy, We were saddened to learn of the passing of Al. We have many fond memories of good times we shared from ice bowling at Lang's Landing to the many times we all got together playing dice and enjoying conversations. Al was indeed a great man and will be missed. May you find peace in Al's passing and know that you now have an ambassadore to heaven in through your husband Al.
