Kenneth A. Eake, age 86, of Larsen, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. He was born December 18, 1927, in Neenah to the late Leonard and Linda (Mueller) Eake. On October 7, 1950, Ken married Ruth Thompson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. For over 20 years Ken worked at the John Strange Paper Mill in Menasha, and then later farmed until his retirement. He was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clayton, where he held various positions, and he also belonged to the Drifter's Snowmobile Club. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
Surviving Ken are his children, Lindy Eake, Steve (Carol) Eake, Ron Eake, Dan (Karen) Eake, all of Neenah; Joey Eake (Amy Busse), of Appleton; Tom Eake, of Larsen; and Keith (Rhonda) Eake, of Neenah; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Eake, of Neenah; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Eake, of Shawano; Eugene (Joan) Eake, of Neenah; three sisters, Marion (Howard, Jr.) Larson, of Kaukauna; Carol Eake, of Chicago; Gloria Wollersheim, of Neenah; brothers-in-law, John Quella, of North Carolina; James (Patricia) Thompson, of Neenah; sister-in-law, June Thompson, of Winchester; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Ken was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; one son, Kenneth "Butch" Eake; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Eake; four sisters, Dolores, Lucille, Phyllis, and Janet; and one brother, Orvin.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, February 23, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 3703 Fairview Rd. Neenah. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Paul Meier officiating. Burial will be on Monday, February 24 in the Clayton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Larsen/Winchester Lions Club.
Ken's family offers a heartfelt thanks to: the doctors and staff on 5th Floor at Theda Clark, and Cherry Meadows Hospice staff for the wonderful care provided to their father.

I'm extremely sorry for your loss. I often heard Nicole talk about Grandpa Eake a lot. I am sure he will be missed by a lot of people and his family. May he rest in peace!
