Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Roseann Tews, age 78, of Winchester, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born June 12, 1943, in Neenah to the late George and Bernice (Tietz) Koslowski. Roseann’s early years were spent living in New York during the summer months with her parents. Her father, known to many in the area as Dave Koslo, was a pitcher for the New York Giants. On February 12, 1966, Roseann married Richard Tews and they made their home in Appleton, before moving to Winchester over 25 years ago. She worked as an educational assistant for the Appleton School District. For many years Roseann was an active parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Appleton where she served as the Religious Ed. Director, and was involved with the woman’s group, and many parish picnics. After moving to Winchester Roseann and Richard became members of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne. She was also an energetic member of the Strong Bones class held in Winneconne. Roseann was a member of the Menasha Women’s Alumni Group, and enjoyed Tuesday “Lunch Bunch” with dear friends. Roseann and Richard spent time at their cottage on Lake Poygan and for over 10 years wintered months at a time on South Padre Island, Texas.
Roseann was the epitome of a classy lady, she was caregiver to all, and will be missed dearly by: her husband of 55 years, Richard Tews; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Pam Tews, of Sherwood, and their daughters, Lindsey and Lauren; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Steve McQuin, of Beaver Dam, and children, Chloe and Calvin; and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Roseann was also preceded in death by a brother, Tim Koslowski.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, August 21, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Tom Long and Deacon Paul Vidmar officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Menasha. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family.
A special thank you to the 4th floor nurses for their compassionate care of Roseann and support of her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, in Roseann’s name.
If you wish please submit online condolences to muellerfh.net.

Dick and family. I am very sorry for your loss. Roseann was always a great friend to my mom and dad (Owen & Margie) and I remember many gatherings growing up with you both. I would run into Roseann shopping from time to time and she always would stop and chat for a bit. Treasure all the great memories. She will be missed.

Years ago while working at Jefferson School, Roseann and I would quickly eat lunch so we could have a brisk walk in lovely Pierce Park the remainder of our lunch break. Roseann was always smiling, and a delight to work with. I live in Winneconne and wish I had known she was so near so we could have had more walks and good times.

Dick and family, so sorry for your loss, enjoyed the Tews family growing up and our short marriage to Pat. Loved the weekends at the cottage and Poygan.
