Pastor Don Forss, age 84, of Omro, entered God’s house on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born May 13, 1937, in Milwaukee to the late Arthur and Raye (Torrey) Forss. Don served his country in the U.S. Navy. In 1970 he was ordained with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and served the Lord’s ministry for 51 years. On October 18, 1980, he married Anna Marie Docter in Milwaukee. Pastor Don served many churches, and developed mission churches, in particular the one in Pipestone, Minnesota.

He was an avid runner until just a few years ago, and enjoyed gardening, photography, airplanes (earning his aviation and student pilot’s license), camping, weekly baking, the Wisconsin State Fair, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Docter-Forss; son, Matthew (Cindy Viertel); daughter, Amanda (Tim) Anhalt; grandchildren, Charlotte, Cole, and Isabelle; Darlene (Walter) Tetzlaff, Deb (John) Henning, Dean (Sharon) Forss, Denise (Ned) Reimer, Deanna (Jonathan) Turner; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Genrich, Holly (Richard) Seymour; brother, Richard (Deborah) Forss; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Karol) Docter, Robert Docter; sister-in-law, Katherine Docter; and other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Don was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Forss; brother-in-law, Gary Genrich; sister-in-law, Laura Docter Minahan.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church 8 S. 4th St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Ben Berger officiating. Military honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, any monetary donations may be made to the family.
