Marilyn Jean (Buech) Goska, age 85, of Winneconne, died Monday, November 15, 2021, at home. She was born February 26, 1936, in Milwaukee to the late Robert F. and Regina C. Buech. Marilyn attended and graduated from St. Vincent Grade School. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, and in 1957 she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee. For many years Marilyn worked as a registered dietitian and was a member of the American Dietetic Association. On February 23, 1963, she married Dr. John R. Goska, and John’s time in the Navy took them to many places. In 1995 Marilyn and John retired to their home on Lake Poygan. Both Marilyn and John volunteered at Mercy Medical Center, the Salvation Army and church. They are members of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. John Goska; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Angela Goska, Robert Goska and Kimberly Szpiech; a son-in-law, Michael Rheintgen; three grandsons, Andrew, Adam, and Alex Goska; her siblings, Gerald (Nancy) Buech, Judy (Rich) Marchewka, David (Dee) Buech, Robert Jr. (Michelle) Buech, Rose (Jim) Luebke; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
Along with her parents, Marilyn was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Rheintgen.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, November 22, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 at the church. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Poygan. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family.
Marilyn’s family extends a special thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers, including the staffs of St. Croix Hospice and Home Care Assistance.

We are so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. Our family has very fond memories of Dr. & Mrs. Goska. Samantha and Sydney loved the bookmobile when it came to Laura Lane and Marilyn was always there, too. We would talk and she loved that the girls loved to read so much. We would race home from school to the bookmobile even though they had a bin of books from the library, too!! Marilyn and I would both bring deviled eggs to the block party because Samantha and Sydney would literally eat one whole batch! Marilyn thought that was hilarious. Carol Thorson thought it was odd, we thought THAT was hilarious. :) John and Marilyn were very generous buying Girl Scout candies and cookies every year. We got to come inside their beautiful home and chat while they decided on what they wanted to purchase. We loved their stories of the travels they enjoyed and commiserating about the lousy internet speeds out here that made it hard for them to view videos of their friends from far off places. John and Marily are very, very special people. Good people, good neighbors, very caring. Marilyn will be missed and we offer our most sincere condolences to John and the rest of the family. We were so sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. She has been such a dear friend to my mother, Bonnie. Some people know how to make a difference other people's lives and it's clear Marilyn's memory will be cherished by many.

I miss Marilyn. She was the bestest of friends. We go back to the beginning of our friendship in Chicago, Ill. We both worked at the VA Research Hospital near downtown. We were both newbys Me a nurse and her the dietitian on my floor. She was so great to work with in the care of the patients, We both lived in the nurses quarters at that time. After our marriages, we continued to correspond often and we each were able to meet with our young families. As we aged we often talked together on the phone. But in the last years as Marilyn began to experience her health issues, not so much. And so it has been a difficult journey for me to lose a very beloved friend. I grieve for John and his family and will continue to keep them all in my prayers. May God bless you all and hold you in the palm of His hand during the difficult times you will have in the coming days.

John and Marilyn were great help with the Winneconne group serving meals Tuesday nights at The Salvation Army Oshkosh till the group retirement from serving meals. My condolences and Prayers are with John and the family. John and Marilyn were great friends since I met them. Marilyn, I had thought I'd missed you then,I definitely going to miss you now till we meet again in Heaven. Thank you for your time and service here. You are a great friend. RIP Marilyn ????

John and family, I am so sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. She was a good friend to my mother and know they enjoyed the many lunches at Jackie’s. May fond memories ease your pain.
